BABB's Competition Presentation and Dinner:
All members are invited to celebrate with the winners of the BABB's Competition and witness the announcement of the Champion Brewer.
Hi guys. My name is Matt Lim and I am normally a Dietitian but masquerade as a cooking class instructor at a teaching kitchen in Bulimba.
This is the second time I have done a beer and food class and have fond memories of the first one as it was the only class I have taken where I was drinking before, during and after. Normally I would crack a cold one after the work had been done.
Let me tell you about the class. Firstly I have our very own Brewmaster, Ross, in to give a wee talk about beer. Thank you Ross!
I will give a small talk on beer and food matching but mostly the class will be cooking and drinking. Please be careful as the knives are very sharp! Drunkeness and sharp knives are not the best mix I can think of.
This will be a hands on cooking class, meaning you will be cooking (and eating and drinking!!)
We will make the following dishes:
Spiced toasted nuts
Lamb and Rosemary pies
Fellow Brewers,
The Queensland Amateur Brewing Championship (QABC) is held as a qualifier to the Australian Amateur Brewing Championship (AABC), which is to be held in Adelaide on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd October 2011. Entrants from the QABC and other states qualifiers who receive a 1st, 2nd or 3rd placing in any of the categories and who have achieved a minimum score of 60% will be invited to enter the National Championship (AABC).
Entries for the QABC are to be delivered to CraftBrewer & Brewers Choice stores no later than 1pm Saturday, 27th of August, so you better get moving if you haven't started brewing yet.
